In the Prosecutor’s Crosshairs: Workplace Safety Enforcement in Singapore and Australia

May 5, 2026/2 min read

Join us on 30 April 2026!

Workplace safety prosecutions have become a key feature of regulatory enforcement in both Singapore and Australia. As enforcement activity increases, it is timely to compare how each regime operates in practice and the risks employers face.

This session will examine the practical differences and commonalities between the two frameworks, exploring enforcement priorities, typical areas of exposure, and how organisations can best prepare for and respond to investigations and prosecutions.

Drawing on their experience in prosecution and defence, Mr. Kui Bao Lee and Mr. Patrick Barry will provide a practical overview of Singapore’s Workplace Safety and Health Act 2006 and Australia’s Work Health and Safety Act 2011, offering strategic guidance on managing investigations, responding to charges, and advising cross-border clients.

The program includes:
5:00 PM - 5:30 PM: Registrations & Refreshments for Delegates
5:30 PM - 5:40 PM: Opening Remarks by the Chairperson, Mr. Ashok Kumar Rai
5:40 PM - 6:40 PM: Main Seminar
6:40 PM - 7:00 PM: Q&A Session
7:00 PM - 7:30 PM: Networking Buffet

The event will be held at Meeting Room 2, Level 3, West Tower Marina One, 9 Straits View, Singapore 018937

This seminar is eligible for 1.5 Public CPD Points (TBC).
